Le Havre de Chaux is located in La Bretenière, in the Jura region, on the edge of the beautiful Chaux Forest, one of the largest deciduous forests in France. It is a peaceful natural setting where guests may occasionally see deer and fawns around the property.
We are only 15 minutes from Dole, a historic town where you can explore the old town, Louis Pasteur's birthplace and enjoy walks along the Doubs River.
The property is also ideally located for discovering the Jura region, including Arbois and its famous vineyards, picturesque villages, lakes and beautiful hiking areas.
Besançon is approximately 30 minutes away and Dijon less than one hour away, making Le Havre de Chaux a great base for exploring Burgundy-Franche-Comté.
🦌 From mid-September to mid-October, guests can also experience the impressive red deer rutting season in the Chaux Forest, which can often be heard directly from the property.
